Unpopular Opinion and I’m sure some will be upset by thisI had seen an ad for this book on Instagram and checked out the authors profile to see what it was about. The author made the book seem interesting and I had nothing to read at the time, so I figured I would give it a shot. I purchased the book and realized it was far larger than I thought it was going to be which surprised me. The book is about 542 pages.The good: The book provides some very good reasons for why there are weak men in society, I agree with many of the things the author discusses. I am not going to leave any spoilers, but he does provide a great amount of things wrong with our current society. I also liked how the author relates a lot of what he discusses with things that we can relate to (movies, podcasts, sports, etc). There is a lot of good in this book that we can learn from as a society.The Bad:After reading the book it made sense why it was so large, the book at times is very repetitive and appears rushed, not so clear and not very concise. The author is a self-proclaimed Alpha-Male who dislikes weak men who complain, but spends a portion of the book belittling his father and complaining about his upbringing. I suppose if he had worded it different and had a better articulation it wouldn’t come off that way but it just seemsI found the book to be very hypocritical in many aspects, albeit we're all hypocrites to some extent. It should be noted though that there were some great quotes and inspirational parts of the book, but I do not think it is the best book to explain what 'being a man' is about or what society needs. Who knows maybe I don't know, I just didn't find the book relevant. If you're looking for an identity of what being a man is go surround yourself with real Alpha males at your local BJJ Gym, Football team, Hockey team or join the Infantry or Special Operations Community. You'll learn more about "being a man" and what it means to be a "tough guy" than what this book can tell you.In the end I think this book would have been better suited if it was more clear and concise as stated before. I give it 3 stars because there was a lot of unneeded text put in the book and it didn’t grasp me and keep my head in the book. This was a great listen (got the audio version). I feel I got my money's worth many times over. Lots of good examples and common sense in today's world that, let's face it, is starting to make no sense at all. The book synthesizes several essential topics for men today and provides good examples of what a male should do and not do. As one example, the part on men's masculine energy even helped improve my marriage recently. I will certainly be going through it multiple times, which I only do for books that I find make a difference in my attitude and knowledge about life. (And I read a lot.) Thanks!
